Sodium Alginate SH is a seaweed derivative that is used to thicken dyes for painting, stamping or screen printing. For thicker fabrics, use a thinner consistency of liquid dye solution to ensure dye penetration. Sizes 2 oz/56.70 g (CHM1001) 8 oz/0.23 kg (CHM2001) 1 lb/0.45 kg (CHM3001) Instructions Mix 1 qt /0.95 L water with ¼ cup/57 g Urea. Then, add 2 teaspoons/10 g Sodium Alginate SH for hand painting or 4 teaspoons/20 g Sodium Alginate SH for screen printing. Slowly sprinkle Sodium Alginate SH over water/Urea mix, stirring constantly for 10 minutes, or mix in a blender until smooth. Let stand for 1 hour, then stir again. Solution may be stored in refrigerator for many months.
