APPLICATION NOTE This switch is a level sensor and the contacts close when the float is horizontal and open again when it is not, so it can either activate (close) or deactivate (open) a circuit according to high or low fluid levels, but it must be installed and orientated accordingly. There are four scenarios: 1. To ACTIVATE (close) a circuit when a fluid level is LOW, the switch should be positioned LOW in the vessel, at the point below which your level must not drop, and be orientated so the float is 'free' when the fluid is ABOVE this level but is horizontal at or BELOW it. 2. To ACTIVATE (close) a circuit when a fluid level is HIGH, the switch should be positioned HIGH in the vessel, at the level your fluid must not exceed, and be orientated so the float is 'free' when the fluid is BELOW this level but is horizontal at or ABOVE it. 3. To DEACTIVATE (open) a circuit when a fluid level is LOW, the switch should be positioned LOW in the vessel, and be orientated so the float is 'free' if the fluid is BELOW this level but is horizontal at or ABOVE it. 4. To DEACTIVATE (open) a circuit when a fluid level is HIGH, the switch should be positioned HIGH in the vessel, and be orientated so the float is 'free' if the fluid is ABOVE this level but is horizontal at or BELOW it.
