 Spirit Based Stain Fast Drying Easy Application

The Morrells range of SCANDI stains has been inspired by Nordic design and consists of classic wood shades and contemporary pigmented colours. All are lightfast and suitable for wooden substrates.

Formulated to provide excellent grain definition and depth of colour while maintaining lightfastness. SCANDI pigmented stains have been designed with a longer drying time to better suit rag-on-rag-off applications, allowing greater control of colour and grain definition.

Suitable for tinting pre-catalyst lacquers up to a maximum of 5% by volume. For flooring applications, a minimum of 2 hours to dry must be given before sealing and topcoating.

Drying and recoat time will vary with temperature, humidity and absorption of the timber. SCANDI stains must be topcoated . If topcoating with manually-applied flooring lacquer, use waterbased products only.

Preparation

1. Ensure surface is clean, dry and free from old finishes, dust, dirt, oil and other contaminants.
2. Pre-sand with 180 grit sand paper prior to stain application to avoid patchy or uneven drying.

Test patch

It is advisable to test the colour in an inconspicuous area or on a spare piece of substrate. 

Note

The SCANDI range contains pigments that will settle with time. Ensure the stain is thoroughly mixed before use and at regular intervals to ensure consistent colour.

Hand staining

1. Use a soft, white, lint-free cloth. Avoid using coloured or printed rags as dyes can bleed into the stain and cause discolouration.
2. Apply the stain wet to the whole surface to avoid uneven penetration and then remove excess with a clean cloth. For larger surfaces it may be appropriate to apply the stain in sections.
3. When removing excess stain, work with the direction of grain.

Spray application

1. Spray apply an even wet coat
2. Remove excess with a soft, white, lint-free cloth, working with the direction of the grain.
3. Wiping off process can enhance the evenness of the colour and highlight the grain definition and the natural figuring of the substrate. 

4. Dip application

   1. Plunge or controlled dip can be undertaken
   2. Wipe off excess stain with a clean, white, lint-free cloth, working with the direction of the grain.

Cleaning:

A suitable Light Fast Thinner should be used for cleaning the stain and from all application equipment.

• SHIPPING Our order delivery time currently is 2-3 working days following your order dispatch date (orders are  dispatched  same working day  subject to cut off time for dispatch) . During this period, we are unable to answer inquiries regarding shipments status, order changes or order cancellation (check all details are correct before check out) . We endeavour to ship them as quickly as we can. Please contact us once this time frame is expired.  All orders placed are dispatched as per time frame advertised at the top of the page.  We offer free Royal Mail Standard delivery service and a premium Next Working Day Delivery option (next day is from dispatched date as notified by eBay order emails). • RETURNS

  RETURN, Refund, EXCHANGE & CANCELLATION POLICY:

  We want you to be delighted with the products you buy from Taste of East-2013 but, if for any reason you do change your mind, you can return your purchase in its original condition within 30 days of purchase. You will just need to send a message via eBay or open a return request. Once your return is approved you need to send it back to us together with your name, address, eBay id and date of purchase. Failure to include these details may result in refusal of refund/exchange.  We will exchange the product or issue a refund in full via your original method of payment. We may levy a charge on your refund where a return is made as a change of mind or orders placed in error and where item is already marked dispatched.

  We are unable to offer refunds or to exchange products that have been cut to size, made to measure or mixed to your individual requirements or if you’ve attempted to use the products or damaged it in doing so. We do not offer refunds or exchange for samples purchased from us. From the point you order a product online it takes a short while for it to be processed  and prepared for dispatch, if for any reason you need to cancel your order you’ll need to receive your order in post and then contact us for returning the order for a refund. For the fast nature of despatch, no cancellation will be dealt with during this period as the item’s already in dispatch process and cannot be stopped.  We're closed over the weekends and Bank holidays for any customer service or order inquiries, all messages are dealt with within 2 working days of receiving them in the order as they are received.
