ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS 1960s Japanese Meiji Period SATSUMA Style VASE. Hand-painted!
Description: Beige Vase with a Crackle Design. Scene depicted is of a large male PEACOCK commanding a view over a Mountain landscape with splashes of Multi-colored Flowers & Budding Trees. The Peacock and viewer have a view of a perfect lake at the base of the mountains. Flat and tranquil.
Each aspect of the scene is outlined in Gold Gilt, every Flower Petal, every part of the Peacock and even the reeds/trees/hills. It is a lovely piece.
There is rich Gold Gilt banding on the top and bottom of the vase as well as a Geometric Design on top/bottom - the colors of which complement those found in the scene.
