One of a Kind 1865 John M. Stanley Nature Print, "Brown's Falls,” Plate 11. *all staining and marks are on laminate cover I put over the matte for protection, not the frame or print itself. The print is in pristine condition.
A phenomenal piece that I'm selling purely because I want this piece of Americana to be somewhere that it can be more deeply appreciated and treasured. With this being an original, period lithographic print, it is a rare commodity; other versions of this are not the original hand & printed color stone lithograph, so be wary of knockoffs and reproductions. Hope you enjoy the piece!
- This piece is a narrative and final report of 19th century explorations for a route for a Pacific railroad, near the forty-seventh and forty-ninth parallels of north latitude, from St. Paul to Puget Sound, an expedition laid out by Isaac I. Stevens, Governor of the Washington Territory. This print was initially part of a report made on the explorations and surveys of the crew, in an attempt to ascertain the most practicable and economical route for a railroad from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean.
- This specific original lithograph holds a COA from Gerhardt H. Felgemaker, Printseller , testifying to it as an "Original hand and printed color stone lithograph by Sarcony, Major and Knapp, in NYC in 1865." COA Reference #: 0201076
