This has a rectangular base with concaved corners, four ovoid struts that support circular holders with roped edging and there is a long, looped handle. The stand is clearly hallmarked for London 1805 with the maker’s mark of Joseph Ash I. Unfortunately, the original bottles weren’t with the stand so I have matched a set that look as if they’re from the same period but are from the turn of the 20th century. All the glass bottles are of faceted circular form and taper to the feet. There are 2 oil/vinegar bottles with faceted glass stoppers, a mustard pot with silver plated hinged lid and a shaker with silver plated cap. There is also a silver plated mustard spoon. These bottles do fit in the holder well but there are a few issues with them as described below. The stand is in beautiful condition with no damage or repairs and it stands nice and level with only a fractional wobble. The decorative work around the bottle rings is still nice and crisp. One oil bottle is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The other is fine with the exception of a 25mm (1”) surface chip along the top of the flared rim. The glass of the pepper pot is in good order but the collar has been re-glued at some stage and it’s possible to see the edge of the glue. The top of the collar and the cap both have quite a bit of pitting (blackening & wear) which will be caused by contact with acids. Unfortunately, the mustard pot has a crack that runs across the middle of the base and about 38mm (1.5”) up the body across one half. It’s possible this broke off and was re-glued at some stage as there is possibly some glue residue visible. Should it break away in future, it should be a clean break which would be quite easy to re-adhere. The spoon is in very good order. I’ve tried to show all aspects in the photos below and the condition of the bottles and the matching of the set are reflected in the asking price. If a buyer purchases an item and it does not match its description or photos, I will give a no quibble refund for the cost of the item and the shipping costs incurred. If, however, a buyer changes his/her mind about a purchase, then he/she may also return it for a full refund of the item's cost but the outward and return shipping costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. Should you wish to return an item, please contact me as soon as possible after receiving it. To qualify for a refund, Items must be returned to the seller within 14 days of the date of receipt. Return postage must be by the same, secure method as that originally used to dispatch the item to the buyer which will normally be a Signed-For Mail Service with adequate compensation included. Once I have safely received the item and checked that it is unused and in the same condition as it was when it was originally dispatched, the relevant refund will be made to the buyer's Paypal account. About Us I source and re-home high quality antique and vintage silver at wholesale prices. On the odd occasion, I come across something that might have had a bit of a rough life but deserves a second chance rather than being consigned to the melting pot. In all cases, because buyers are purchasing from a distance, I always provide in-depth condition reports and multiple high-magnification images in my listings to give you as much information as possible. Through selling online, I maintain low overheads and try to set 'Buy It Now' prices at a lower rate than those charged by most antique shops and fairs. I am very passionate about the pieces I sell and am most happy when they go to a new home where they'll be fully appreciated. Contact Us If you have any questions whatsoever about an item I am selling, please feel free to contact me at jochyra@yahoo.co.uk and I will be more than happy to answer them.
