Seller: mitchy113 (2.165) 99.5%, Location: Canterbury, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 153589368327 I inherited these maps from my grandfather, who found them in his attic. They have been taken from a map book published between 1823-1828 (established by way of the address on the maps) There is some staining on the maps of varying degrees - please see the photographs for condition detail. Each map is approximately 360x 220mm and would look great mounted and framed. The maps are printed on paper which has then been attached to cloth. Many of the counties no longer exist or have been merged and noticeably there are no railway lines. There are 39 maps in total and they will all be listed separately here on eBay, I am able to combine postage on these items. James Pigot (fl. 1794-1842) He started as an engraver for Dean's Manchester Directory, but later set up his own business publishing the London and Provincial New Commercial Directory, at first with Dean and then alone from 1822-3. In 1828 the Pigots moved from 24 to 17 Basing Lane, in 1832 they briefly moved to No.1. Their address 1838 is listed as 59 Fleet Street. Year: 1823, Format: Sheet Map, County: Buckinghamshire, Cartographer/Publisher: Pigot & Co., Era: 1800s, Type: County Map, Original/Reproduction: Antique Original, Date Range: 1800-1899
