Here we have a beautiful antique Georgian Sterling silver

shell shaped bowl soup ladle with a handle in the old English pattern with a

feather edge and a plain terminal.

This ladle is hallmarked on the underside of the handle with the Leopard's head crowned for London, the lion passant for Sterling standard

silver,  a gothic lower case "m" for 1767 -1768, makers marks GB for George Baskerville.

Condition: Has had some damage in the past there is a soldered repair to the bowl as shown in the photographs, small stress crack to  the handle near the bowl left hand side of the bowl has a small crack from the  original damage. Otherwise in excellent condition the hallmarks very clear very  little wear, still a highly decorative and usable soup ladle. This is only to

be expected on an item of this age, 250 years old, George III was the monarch on the throne at the time this ladle was made.

It is 13 5/8 inches long , 3 1/8 inches high and 3 3/4 inches

wide. It weighs 148g or 4.76 Troy ounces.
