The case front is in oak with Mahogany trim and marquetry motifs, and is in good original condition. The long shaped case door with an oak panel inside a moulded and mahogany edge, with a marquetry panel to its centre. The door is complete with its lock and key, original brass hinges, and the door is flanked by line inlaid canted corners. The base with a small marquetry fan to the centre, with crossbanding to its edge (some small pieces missing), and the clock stands on its original shaped splayed front feet at 90 inches in total height. The hood with its swan neck pediment with original tarnished brass quilted ball and spire finial to its centre. The glazed hood door with its brass handle, and the door is flanked by reeded columns at each side with brass capitals. The clock retains its original backboard. The painted arched dial is in beautiful condition with some previous professional restoration, the chapter ring having hours represented by elegant Numerals, with an outer minute ring. The corners of the dial with floral scenes, the top arch with an oval scene inside gilt decoration. The centre of the dial with the working seconds dial above the makers signature and twin winding holes. The 4 pillar rack and snail striking, 8 day duration movement is in original and fairly dirty condition and in working order, striking out the hours on a single bell. The clock is set up and keeping good time, as with all antique clocks it would benefit from a clean and service at some time in the future. The clock comes complete with it's original old weights and pendulum, along with a winding key.Dimensions - 90 inches high x 19 1/2 inches wide at the feet. Faults; There are some minor chips, movement dirty. Overall a beautiful Georgian Lincolnshire longcase clock in working order, ready to go straight into your home.
