Georgian Land Sale & Indenture Documents On 2 Vellum Pages Dated 16 April 1800 Following a 1796 Act of Parliament "for improving dividing and inclosing the commons waste grounds and mosses in the Parish of Cartmel in the county of Lancaster (Lancashire)", parcels of such land in the Cartmel area were sold in public auction. The parcels of land in Winder Moor mentioned in the Indenture were bought by James Stockdale of Ulverstone (also in the county of Lancaster) for the sum of £162.

The hand written Indenture on 2 pages of vellum relating to this transaction, dated 16 April 1800, is the subject of this listing.

It should be noted that although Cartmel was part of Lancashire at the time, in 1974 it became part of modern day Cumbria.

In terms of condition, although the document is complete, fully legible and has no holes or tears, there is some light wear to the hand written ink text in parts. In addition, there are also some patches of brown staining of the Vellum.
