A Georgian copper warming pan with a hinged lid decorated in naïve wriggle work depicting a pattern formed of stylised roses and sporting a long turned handle.

 

The piece is in good condition for its age with obvious signs of use but no tears or breakages. The handle has the odd paint dot and the underside of the pan has indications of hot coals having been used but is still solid. The handle fixing is decidedly robust and intact and the hinge works well. There are some dints please see images for further explanation.

 

Displays with interest a nice old example of the genre estimated to have been made around the later years of the 1700s to those of the early 1800s.
