This is for a beautiful set of demitasse or espresso cup and saucer made Charles Field Haviland of Limoges France. The green backstamp under the glaze, with GDA France, was used starting in 1900 to 1941. The red decorator mark was used from 1862-present so they are between 83 and 124 years old.
This is a lovely and delicate set decorated red and white bands of colors, enhanced with a ring of pink roses on the white and a beautiful gold design on the red and on the white.,I see no chips, crazing, cracks, or stains. Looking at an angle to the light, I see minimal to no wear. There is some wear to the gold with time, especially on the cup rim and on the gold on the inner edge of the cup and on the gold edging the red ring in the saucers center. Still so beautiful anyway, that combination of pink roses and gold on red. So pretty.
The cup is 2 & 1/4 inches high, 2 & 3/8 inches in diameter, and the saucer is 4 & 7/8 inches in diameter. The cup holds 1/3 cup. The last picture shows the cup and saucer next to a regular sized teacup so you can get a good idea of it’s size.
