Please read the note towards the bottom of this listing. Before bidding on, or buying any item from me, please check my feedback and bid/buy with the utmost confidence. If you buy this clock from me, you will receive a C/D with 78 photos of the work I have carried out on the movement and the case, along with a write up of the work seen in the photos. Some of these pictures can be seen in this listing. I take great pride in my work, which I hope can be seen in the finished product. I was given this clock by a friend of mine who lives in Liverpool as he was having a clear out. The clock was made in Korea and has no great age being around 40 years old. I don’t normally work on Korean clocks as although the movements are good movements in themselves they are let down by the clocks plates being made from a brass that is soft in nature. Because of this the plates wear quicker them say older European clocks. What saved this clock was its case, which is in very good condition and the style which is based on old American clocks of the late 1800s. These are often called drop dial wall clocks. The movement has been completely overhauled and as I suspected was very badly worn. I re-bushed 11 points of wear with new harder brass bushes that will last many years. You will see this work in the photos on the C/D. The movement does a single strike on a bell at 12 and again at half past the hour. This clock is a 31 day and will run for around a month before needing to be wound, but in my opinion you should wind this clock every 2 weeks. If you do this you will find the timekeeping accuracy greatly improved. The case dimensions are approximately 17 ¾” high by 7” wide by 3” deep. It is difficult to give an age to this clock. My best guess is that it dates to the late 1960s to early 1970s, but it could be a little earlier but I would say not much later. The dial, case and glass are in good condition, which was the main reason for me restoring this clock Please do bear in mind that this is not a new clock and therefore although in very good condition, there will be some imperfections related to its age. The case dimensions are as follows:- Height 17 ¾” Width 7” Depth 4” This will come with an old key but it’s not the original one. As with all my clocks, the buyer will receive my own care sheets so that you will get the most out of the clock. Covering four sheets of A4, these pages cover everything from winding up the clock and adjusting the time, to when to have it serviced. You will receive a C/D with a write up and 78 photos showing the work I have done on the movement and case. The care sheets will be on the C/D. If you require them printing, please let me know. Please note the following on postage:- I am more than happy to post my clocks to you and they will be packed to the best of my ability. To be fare this particular clock is quite tough and should post well.
