Item:274043845650Hi I have for sale a 1890s solid brass/black /red marble French crystal regulator mantel clock that is in stunning condition for the age with an original brass case and fully serviced eight day striking movement run via original massive heavy mercury pendulum. This clock was made in France by Achille Brocot and signed on the back plate AB in a star which was his sign and retailed by Le Roy & Fils 13/15 Paris Royal , Galerie , Paris but this is very faded on the dial but can just be seen on the red marble centre. This clock is simply stunning the case shines in the sun light and is a very large and heavy clock this clock is insured for £3000 The Case The case is in solid very shiny brass/Black marble/red marble very heavy and standing 14.75” high x 9.5” wide with a depth of 7.5” it is in very good original condition very shiny and has been very well looked after over the years, with 5mm thick bevelled glass on all four sides , both doors open with ease and all glass is free of chips or marks all panels again are in mint condition. The Dial The dial is in original condition with a solid black marble chapter ring with bold gold Roman numerals and a solid red Marble centre , the clock set off with the original gilt spade hands. The Movement The movement is an eight day time and strike striking the hours and halves on a large sweet gong a real quality movement, which still retains the original key and massive brass gilt mercury pendulum. The movement keeps good time over the eight days; she was fully stripped down ultra sonic cleaned new springs hand polished then all screws re-blued then oiled tested and run around three years ago.( the work cost over £350.00 on this clock alone, just been serviced again running very strong) All the wheel work is ultra fine the cutting out is of top quality this would have been a very expensive clock back in the day and I think one of the best for sale at the moment by far. Please do not miss this one too see a clock like this again you could wait a very long time it is stunning in the flesh. Overall a very beautiful rare clock in its original condition that’s looking great on display keeping great time. The photos do not do justice to this lovely old clock do not miss out on this one please find another for sale happy to have the clock back if not 100% happy. I will post worldwide at your risk but collection would be best.Age:Antique, Pre-1900, Material:Marble/ Stone, Type:Mantel/ Carriage Clock, Features:8-Day, Sub-Type:Mantel Clock, Clock Type:Mantel/ Carriage Clock, Style/ Origin/ Theme:French
