Condition: Very good condition, tiles with no damage or restoration, frame good, some grouting has been lost. This panel of tiles is from the Derbyshire Museums Service and is in a hardwood frame with a plywood back, probably c1980, with a label reading "Set of Moorish tiles, Spanish Crafts". The tiles are hand painted tin-glazed earthenware - not moulded. They are hand-painted - probably lightly stencilled and then finished by hand. They are in the style of the tiles used in many Spanish buildings in the South of Spain during the Moorish occupation in the 15th/16th centuries. An attractive panel with a variety of possible uses, including simply hanging on the wall.
