This is a real mystery object - of tremendous quality - but with no obvious marks. I have been told it is probably English and made during the Arts & Crafts movement or it could be Italian and influence by the Italian designer Carlo Bugatti.


As mentioned the quality is excellent with a fine quality silver mount inset with two black hardstone bosses to each side with ropetwist silver rims as well as the hardstone body with curved end. As far as I can tell apart from a very very small chip to the top this is in excellent condition. A lovely heavy quality piece.
