This fine quality Vinaigrette is in superb original condition (I have not attempted to clean it as I am aware many collectors prefer to undertake that task or leave the item in its original condition). The Vinaigrette has no damage that I can see other than a couple of bruises that are wholly commensurate with age and use. The lid, which has a cartouche engraved with a monogram has a good strong hinge and it opens and closes as it should. On opening the lid it becomes apparent that most of the Interior Gilding has survived intact and that the Pierced & Gilded Grille is also beautifully finished with Hand Chased Foliate Engraving of the highest quality (please see photographs); the grille opens and closes as it should.
