Fantastic quality ormolu gilt bronze case with winged females either side of griffon form. The casting and detail of the case is something only the top bronzers' could achieve and coupled with this it retains its original gilding that is almost as good as when first made. It looks all the more impressive standing on its red marble base which compliments the ormolu very well. The 8 day movement striking the half and full hours on a bell and working well. The back plate is stamped "Ed Minart" and numbered. The case is also stamped for the same on the inside top of the movement casing. The condition is superb with all original gilding, the front glass is convex and back door glass is frosted. The more you look at it the more detail you see. Standing 15 inches high[38cm] x 10 ins wide[26cm] x 7 ins deep[18cm]. Comes complete with winding key, bell and pendulum, which is a little fiddley to get inside but does fit snugly.
