Item:283792436672An English bracket clock in an ebonised case with gilded mouldings. Made by Stephen Rimbault London circa 1750. It has a double fusee movement and original verge escapement .Beautifully engraved backplate. The arched brass dial has engraved and silvered chapter rings and a strike/silent dial to the arch and a date aperture. Original steel hands. I have attached a pic. of the movement when in pieces during a thorough service approx. 10 years ago. I have also shown the clock on a vintage hardwood bracket that I sit it on. It is not original to the clock but it is very well made and serves a purpose. This I will include with the selling price. The clock is working perfectly and keeps very good time. 16" high without the handle. Stephen Rimbault was a very famous maker and renowned for making many complicated clocks during his lifetime.Recorded working 1744 to 1785 .The clock is open to inspection prior to buying. Because of it,s delicate nature I prefer collection only or buyer arranges his own collection by a courier and I will pack the clock safely in a strong box. This would be the buyers responsibilty .I would recommend Shiply Couriers, having used them many times with-out a problemAge:Antique, Pre-1900, Type:Bracket Clock, Clock Type:Bracket Clock
