I am sure you will agree on a beautiful early bracket clock in excellent condition for age, I have sympathetically serviced the movement. This is a very original bracket not often found in such excellent original condition. English born and trained horologist David Caillatte of Copenhague was an extremely good clockmaker who moved to Copenhague in the late 18th century. He only made a few magnificent bracket clocks in his short courier; he is listed working in Copenhgue in 1771. The dial is an arched brass and silvered dial with black Roman and Arabic numerals and black carved solid steel hands, to the arch there is a silent/strike selection lever and a rise & fall subsidiary dial. To the centre are two winding holes and carved date aperture, with floral carved c scrolling corner spandrels to the engraved arch you will see between the dials the centre is the maker's name plaque. Just above the hands, you can see a swinging mock pendulum smile aperture. An 8-day English twin fusee bell striking top quality movement with its original sought after verge escapement dating to around circa 1771. The turned five pillar fusee movement has beautiful scrolling fluorite engraved decoration. The movement comes with original pendulum with pendulum locking bar and sits in its ebony movement bracket, to the edge you have the herringbone border. The clock also has a pull repeat feature and when pulled it will strike the last hour. This elegant clock has come from my private collection and you will be very hard pressed to match its quality and condition of this great bracket clock.
