Item Description

A great antique coffee mill.  Has a very nice turned wooden knob, the pewter top has a nice colonial look, does have a few minor dings overall.  It is signed by the blacksmith on the handle, looks like Shaffner.  Wooden box is nicely dove tailed, back panel has a hairline from age, inner drawer is simple but joints assembled with square head nails.  Measures about 7-1/2" square and 7" to the top of the pewter bowl.  Some wear overall including finish marking and mild chipping.  There has been a repair to the grinder underneath.  Looks like a support was replaced, it does not turn very smoothly, I would say this is largely for decorative use only.
