Antique Victorian White Bristol Glass Blue Ruffle Enamelled Bird & Floral Vase
This fantastic antique vase is a wonderful and unique example of Victorian Enamelled Bristol Glass. Created in the late 19th to early 20th century, these striking pieces were hand painted with thick enameled paint and their shapes and styles were inspired by the porcelain vases of the oriental & continental makers. Though dubbed Bristol Glass, Bohemia pieces that came through the port of Bristol at the time were labelled together, so today it describes a style more than an origin.
This particular piece is a tall ovoid piece in white opaque Bristol Glass. This along with its delightful hand decorated bird & floral motif with gilt accents and dramatic pastel Blue ruffled rim and elongated rounded shape, make it a striking addition to any collection or display.
