Descent to Duxford

No 242 Squadron�s CO, Squadron Leader Douglas Bader, lands his Hawker Hurricane 1 at RAF Duxford in late August 1940, which was where the squadron operated from by day although based at Coltishall.
It was from here that Bader formulated the controversial "Big Wing" tactics of fighter interception. After the Battle he was promoted to Wing Commander and moved south to head the Tangmere Wing.
