The late Thomas Barker of Pontefract die on 7 March, 1831 and left his daughter, Sarah Barker, a legacy of £400 which she collected on the 26th July, 1831 after paying duty of £4 - receipt on reverse. The table on the reverse also shows that if a person died after 5 April, 1805 the rate of legacy to a child of the deceased was 1%. The Executors being members of the Barker family were local malsters from Pontefract
Good Condition, Paper, Double-sided, Dated, Signed by the beneficiary, Embossed stamp, 1829 watermark through the paper several horizontal folds, Few small holes at the top of the form, Light Handling marks, Otherwise fine and almost 200 years old!
