This is an original engraving, titled “Monarch of the Glen” measuring 28 1/4”x 27 1/4”, that was issued by TheHartford Fire Insurance Company of Hartford, Connecticut. It’s after a 1851 painting by Great Britain artist Sir Edwin Landseer 1803-1873. It was engraved by John A. Lowell of Boston in 1890. The engraving does have stains or water damage, with minor foxing, but may be worth a little restoration. The oak frame looks original to the engraving, so possibly dated to the late 1800’s, measuring 34 3/4”x 35 3/4” and is 3 1/2” wide, not  counting the inner silver 3/4” trim piece. The frame has minor scratches, in very good condition. I have a shop  just off Rt. 95 in Southern Rhode Island if interested in picking up. The glass was removed, the engraving will be shipped between a foam board and the original Masonite backing.
