Item:292058637999~ Circa 1870 Victorian Mantel Clock By Arthur Saunders ~ The clock is housed within a fine dark hardwood (satin wood we think) case. The painted and enameled clock face has roman numerals with minute increments and has a pair of blue steel hands the fittings of the clock are all brass. The clock is decorative and also rather understated and would compliment any room or collection. This clock was made by Arthur Saunders of Southampton Row, London. Records show this shop was registered and opened in 1849 and this piece is made in the style of clocks made by Saunders in the 1870’s and onwards. The clock comes with its pendulum and key. The movement is unsigned with no distinguishing markings. ~ Dimensions ~ The clock is 20 Inches (51 cm) high. The clock is 10 ¾ inches (27 ½ cm) wide. The clock is 6 ¾ inches (17 cm) deep. ~ Condition ~ The clock is in good condition for its age. There are some minor cosmetic nicks to the wood. The right handles brass mount has come apart at the point where the ring goes through but it still holds the ring. The clock keeps good time.
