Circa 1850 IMARI scallop Edge 8.5" Red White & Blue Basket Flowers PLATE ~ MINT!. 19th Century (Circa 1850) Japanese IMARI scallop Edge 8.5" inches in diameter - Weighs 1LB 3.4 Ounces Vibrant Red White & Blue Basket of Flowers Motif Dish with triple blue base ring Very Clean Dinner Plate No chips, no cracks, hardly any knife marks can be seen (if any very tiny), vibrant bright colors with virtually no wear to paint, appears to have been in storage for most of it's existence. Rare to find in this good condition. All original antique. This is the quality heavy crude good looking (thick) hand painted Imari -difficult to find. - Condition: No chips, No cracks, No stains, hardly any knife marks can be seen (if any very tiny), very clean & vibrant bright colors with virtually no wear to paint, appears to have been in storage for most of it's existence. Rare to find in this good condition. All original antique. This is the heavy crude good looking Imari -difficult to find. We do not consider stilt marks or manufacturing defects to be chips or cracks as these are typically found and part of the manufacturing process. There are No stilt marks on this plate and one tiny manufacturing defect, which is a hairline to the base underglazed. The raw clay plate before painting, dried and created a tiny hairline crack during firing, and was painted and glazed over during the secondary stage of painting The re-glazing solidifies the crack so it does not spread during it's life and is perfectly fine. Have many pieces like this in my personal collection. Does not effect the value, and not noticeable to the eye, or your guests.
