  Circa 1920's - 30's   Perfect for a Collector, or to Wear and Enjoy!   Would make a GORGEOUS GIFT!   A Rare and Fabulous antique Art Deco Louis Rousselet chunky 'Black & White' beads necklace ~ pure ART DECO! The necklace is made up of jet black galalith beads (an early plastic) and rhinestone rondelles.  The two beads at the centre are studded with rhinestones and are really striking – they remind me very much of dice. It is such an elegant and understated piece.

  Rousselet's work was not signed with his name, but clasps were occasionally stamped 'Made in France'.  Although this piece is not stamped, its authenticity as a genuine Rousselet is unmistakable to me.

 

The necklace is strung on the original thread, which still seems good.  There is no damage that I can find, save for the odd tiny fleabite.  The necklace fastens with a chrome plated chunky egg-shaped screw barrel clasp, typical of Rousselet.  EVERYTHING IS ALL ORIGINAL  Measures approximately: 16.25" or 41cm

 

 The largest central beads measure just over 18mm diameter
