A superb English boxed solid sterling silver place card or menu holder. It is hallmarked for London c1980 (hard to read) with the makers mark being that of Thomas Charles Jarvis. It has been superbly designed being cast in the form of a chestnut seller with the milestone numbered 13. There was a set produced by TC Jarvis - all Victorian street characters, this is quite a rare example. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 2 inches (5.2cms) tall by 1.5 inches (3.8cm) across the base and weighs 52 grams, excluding the box. An interesting well made piece.
