Up for auction is a Victorian toast rack and jelly dish by Benetfink & Co., Cheapside, London England from the late 1800's or earlier. The company opened for operation in 1852 and continued until 1862 when the company changed makers marks and in 1862 they became Benetfink & Fox until 1867 when they again changed the name and makers mark to reflect the Benetfink & Co. marks until 1899. The toast rack is in good condition as shown in the pictures. The frosted glass insert is free of repairs, cracks or chips and fits as it should. The edge that touches the silver plate is rough and has multiple flea bites but the are against the rim of the holder and unseen and cant be felt until it is removed for cleaning. It stands about 8.5 inches tall and 8 inches wide with a slots to hold 6 slices of toast.
