For sale is a beautiful Japanese enamel Arita bowl.If we're not mistaken, the mark on the bottom if from one of Japan's most famous makers of fine porcelain, the Kakiemon family. This bowl has a very nice enamel design with the soft red, yellow and blue flowers and nigoshide fine white porcelain background on the outside synonymous with Kakiemon ware.Inside the bowl has a Komainu holding a long ribbon in its mouth. This bowl is 8 1/4" diameter at the top and stands 3 1/4" tall. The foot of the bowl is 3 3/4" diameter and roughly 5/8" tall. This bowl is in very nice condition, but not perfect. There are a few very small and light marks and some light wear on the inside of the bowl. You can see marks in the pictures and see that the komainu is as beautiful as it always has been.We also noticed a hairline crack running down the side of the bowl that is about 2" long. The bowl is still very solid, but we do want to make sure you are aware of it. If you look at the picture with the ribbon to the left of the komainu, you can see it start at the komainu's front paw and running to the top edge of the bowl. You can also see it on the outside of the bowl from the flower to the top edge. This item will weigh 2 to 3 pounds when packed for shipping. We offer a couple insured shipping options for this item, just make your selection at checkout. Thanks for looking and God bless! Condition: This bowl is in very nice, but not perfect, vintage condition., Region of Origin: Japan, Primary Material: Porcelain & Pottery, Maker: Kakiemon, Original/Reproduction: Vintage Original
