This instrument is from a deceased estate and I have no history for it.
This is an Ashbury IONA Guitar bodied Bouzouki which has been strung with a fresh set of Picato 96581B strings and it plays exceptionally well and has obviously been professionally set up.
This beautiful-looking and sounding instrument is a former top of the range, now apparently discontinued, Ashbury Iona model, which used to sell for over £800. Solid spruce top with solid senna siamea (a Vietnamese hardwood) back and sides. Flamed maple binding with abalone purfling and sound hole rosette. Bound mahogany neck with senna siamea fingerboard and pin bridge. Bone saddle. Gold-plated Ashbury machine heads and a fresh set of Picato 96581B strings
. Strap end pin. Nut width 35mm. Hardshell case included (unknown make).
It has a pickup fitted which works and I believe is passive but unknown make.
it comes with a Hard Case.
There are obvious signs of wear but none excessive and none that affect the instrument.
Please note This was restrung after pictures were taken and all bridge pins are there
