Sadly the hallmark date letter has rubbed too severely to make out clearly but versions of this S&G design & style were assayed in both Birmingham & Chester between 1923 & 1937, making it most definitely fall into the 'deco' period. A few 'dints' in the silver (could easily be repaired by a competent silversmith) & some 'silvering' to the bevel edging of the mirrored glass, perfectly appropriate given it's age and regular usage, do not detract from the overall beauty of the piece. Please check phots to assure yourself of condition etc. An ideal birthday, christening, wedding or anniversary gift, even just a beautiful & unusual addition to a fine English silver collection, the price represents excellent value for more already, but sensible offers will be considered.
