Item:292500828576Art Deco Styled 1930's Wooden Mantle ClockA nice Art deco styled 1930's mantle clock. The bezel is present but needs a glass while the dial is original with superb chrome deco numerals and hands (some loss of chrome to hands). The case measures 10.5in wide x 8.25in tall and 3in deep all approx. The case looks veneered in either walnut or mahogany? and has some wear and knocks consistent with age (couple of holes which may be historical worm holes? so treated as a precaution). The movement probably is a french platform movement which is very unusual for a clock like this. The back door has a plaque on it stating it is British made with some French and Swiss parts (see photo). There are some spare holes to the front of the movement, so may have been a French movement supplied to a British clock case maker? Keeping time to 3 to 4 minutes a day and there is a platform adjuster so that you can fine tune the movement. Probably needs a good clean and service to run as it should. Sold as seen, working, but requiring some restoration/adjustment. A stylish Art deco clock.
