Antique French mantel clock made by Japy Freres in the late 1800s. This 8 day, two train clock strikes a bell and is offered in good working order complete with a suitable winding key.
The walnut veneered case is in good condition with some slight warping to the backdoor. Decorative brass mounts in the corners of the case have a patinated finish whilst the top handle has a lovely turned wood central bale. The open porcelain dial is clean with original moon style hands.
Dimensions:
Weighs 1.3kg before wrapping and stands 9.25" (23.5cm) high with the handle raised. The front is 5.25" 13.5cm) wide and the case 3.5" (9cm) deep. The bezel (dial) is 4.25" in diameter.
