Item:362919087663This is a vintage Matthew Norman carriage clock movement (C1970), in a late C19th French "0bis" carriage clock case. (An explanation will be provided on request!) DIMENSIONS:- Height with handle folded down 4 3/4 inches (12 cms); Width 3 inches (8 cms); Depth 2 1/2 inches (6 cms). The case and all five thick bevelled glasses are in perfect condition. The case has been completely dismantled, cleaned, polished and waxed. It has a subdued antique patina.The beautifully engineered and numbered Swiss movement has also just been completely dismantled, cleaned, polished and oiled (February 2020). It works perfectly and keeps spot-on time. The movement number 10534 is etched on the front plate behind the dial. The dial is the one that came with the movement. It too is in perfect condition.The classic double-ended carriage clock key is original to the movement. One end is for winding the 8-day movement and the other is for adjusting the hands. A lever for adjusting the time keeping is reached through the opening rear door.Instructions will be provided explaining how to get the clock started if it has stopped while in the post.
