Item:293068431070Antique / Vintage Japanese watercolor of Mt. Fuji Framed 10 x 14 inc Signed. Shipped by USPS. (We have been advised by an expert that is probably a watercolor by K. Seki. That makes it one of a kind. Not sure if it is painted on paper or silk or why that would matter. In the mat it is 8 and 1/2 inches by 12 and 1/2 inches. Probably slightly larger but no way to tell without taking the frame apart, which I am not willing to do. This was acquired by my father while he was serving in the US Army at Camp Zama 1947-48. The signature in the lower right corner and the red mark are, we are told an artist's mark. We are also told by another source that it is also identified as a "for the tourist trade" watercolor circa 1895 to 1930. Let me know if you can translate any of this. I'll send you a free book. Grew up with such art and still have many in my living spaces even today, but no place to hang this one, so it goes. Too much stuff and it deserves to be seen, not stored. It was reframed sometime in the past by a frame shop in San Antonio, Texas, probably in the `1960s. . Shipping will be done very carefully because of the glass covering it.
