Box overall is in great condition. Walnut shows wonderful and brass is attached shoes well. no visible chips or dents. Folds opens and closes properly. Needs one interior handle glue on and it is there. And a key. The center brass plate is gone. The box is large and has a stunning look to it and is most likely French made and was a well crafted box. 16 by 9 by 6 with hidden drawers and all parts operate properly. Very rare item. These units in this condition is becoming harder to find. The wood grain and finish is gorgeous and hard to believe it is from the 1800s. To me looks like a Captian or Lieutenant size box.
