Antique Swiss Black Forest Wood Carving Beveled Mirror & Frame Grape Leaves c1890 Brienz

• To auction comes this beautiful antique mirror, intricately carved by one of the master carvers of the day in Brienz, Switzerland, circa 1890. It is carved from linden wood and stained a rich walnut brown. The mirror is beveled (see photos).
• The frame carving simulates tree branches. We also see grape leaves around three sides, and grapes at the top.
• It measures ~28 1/2" tall, ~25" wide.

• This item is part of the antique “new [old] uncirculated” stock from the famous carving emporium “JOBIN” in Brienz, Switzerland. I was fortunate enough to be allowed into their archives and privileged to purchase some of their antique stock that had never been circulated, but remained packed and stored for roughly one century.

• This piece is in very good used condition showing great patina. Top leaf on right side shows discoloration. Mirror shows some age- a spot at lower center (see photos), two or three more SMALL spots, not even able to photograph. See photos for further condition detail.

She has sold pieces to decorate the rustic Ritz Carlton Hotel in Vail, as well as items to Ralph Lauren's ranch, and many mountain homes and cabins across the country. She makes three trips a year to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France to buy these important pieces and works hard everyday to present them to her customers.
