Antique Single Weighted Ebonised Vienna Wall Clock by Gebrüder Resch stamped REMEMBER O.V. R.M. Co

This is a fantastic ebonised Vienna wall clock, which is of lovely proportions and of a wonderful design.  With regards to the case, the top has a wonderful Architectural pediment. Moving down, the hinged door has a near full length glass window which is arched at the top. To the side are glazed panels which creates a lovely backlight effect. The bottom platform has a lovely shaped section and has inverted full turned finials to either side as well as well has a half turned finial to the centre. 

The dial has a lovely chapter ring marked out with Roman Numerals and a subsidiary second dial. The clock also has lovely shaped fingers which sets it off beautifully. 

The movement is an 8 day movement. The movement has a nice back plate with key hole points which allows the movement to be simple lifted up off it's mounting points. There is no winding key.

The movement is stamped with  the number '66478'. The movement is marked REMEMBER, O.V.R.M. Co. The Remember Company was formed in 1872 by Gebrüder Resch of the Resch Brothers in Ebensee, Austria (the Northern Central Part of Austria) Vienna-style clocks with signed 'REMEMBER' movements are highly sought after by collectors because of their superior mechanical quality. 

The movement ticks with pressure to the great wheel and is all present but it is being sold requiring a service because we have not had it serviced and also it will need setting up correctly and adjusted and setting into beat once it has been moved and transported. 

The clock is Victorian.

The approximate maximum dimensions are: 44 inches / 112 cm high x 13.5 inches / 34.5 cm wide x 5.75 inches / 14.5 cm deep.

From the above dimensions is can be seen that the the clock is of lovely proportions.

The clock case is in good condition as can be seen from the photographs, just minor marks commensurate with age. There is damage to the right side glass panel which has been photographs. There are some fine cracks to the dial between XII and I, at VII and to the centre, but this a fine so would probably bleach. The movement is being sold requiring a service. There is no winding key.
