Item:183678766031Antique Saxonia Style 3/4 Transverse Shuttle Ceramic Handcrank Sewing Machine. Antique Saxonia Style (believed to be 3/4 size) Transverse Shuttle Ceramic Handcrank Sewing Machine A particularly nice working example with very attractive decals and well preserved chrome work. It has no name but possibly manufactured in Germany by Haid & Neu of
Karlsruhe, Durlach, Germany. Similar machines were labeled VESTA or HARRIS among a multitude of different companies. It was typicle of the time for companies to order machines from the factory with their name on it. This small saxonia style
machine has a larger than normal balance wheel with a cut-out in the
base to accomodate the larger wheel. This allowed a much smaller machine
to have the sewing power of a standard sized machine. It's unusual to find these in such good condition, with a key. The bentwood case is also well preserved. It's rear case clips have been replaced with Singer examples after having been filed off at some point possible due to the owner lossing the key. I have had a new replacement key made up and the case locks and shuts with the ability to carry as it should. There is a small 3mm gap at the hook end as pictured due to the replacement clasps. Will be packed very well indeed and labeled GLASS and FRAGILE with UP arrows.
