The writing box is made from rosewood which has some stunning grain especially to the lid and has been very nicely inlaid with Mother of Pearl to the lid. To the key hole the inlay is lacking.DIMENSIONS: The approximate maximum dimension are : 14.5 inches / 35 cm wide x 9.5 inches / 24 cm deep x 5.5 inches / 14 cm high AGE: The box is Victorian and dates to circa 1860.CONDITION: The box is being sold requiring some restoration. There are odd shrinkage lines, to the key hole the inlay is lacking and the purple fabric to the fall needs attention as it is split through the joints.
