Vintage 1930s Art Deco Garrard Mantel Clock - Converted  - Vintage Keinzle Quartz - Cracked Glass. The Garrard Clock Co of Swindon produced clocks from 1931-54 - this from research appears to be 1930s. Oak case - this has been waxed and really looks the part. Silvered bezel - this has been polished and looks how it would in the day, t he face has some time related dirt and a scratch. Arabic numerals - we don't think the fingers are 1930s but date to the Keinzle replacement. This is a lovely 1930s clock but sadly it has a cracked glass with a single crack - I could live with it as it's only noticeable from certain angles in certain light. It's been converted to Quartz with a vintage German Keinzle movement - these are collectable in their own right - and 1970s - so it would appear the clock had the mechanical movement replaced around that time period. The clock has a piece of card inside that indicates by the early 1990s it had found it's way to a bungalow in Caernarfon N.Wales. Could you live with the crack? it looks superb anyway, it will run for one year on the large C battery which is not supplied. It would also make a great film or TV prop and is sold cheaper because of the crack. 21.5cms in height, 30cms in length, 11cms in width, 1.4kgs in weight. Dispatched Hermes £7.50 it will be VERY well packed.
