Seller: it2014-bauti (40) 100%, Location: Ferrara (FE), Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 184041182632 Antique Couaillet French Carriage Clock I have for sale a 1870-90 French repeating carriage clock made in France by Couaillet Freres, this is one semi giant heavy clock built to top spec and a must for the best of collections a very rare clock not seen often for sale in a fully restored condition. The key probably is not the original but it matches perfectly. (IMPORTANT - This clock will be very well packed. However, during transit the hammer may bounce out of alignment with the chime coil. If this happens it will need adjusting at the adjustment screw). The Case The Anglaise case with Pilar Columns, is in solid Patina brass and stands 18,7 cms high with the handle up x 10,2 wide with a depth of 9-00 cms, it is in good antique used conditons and recently full restored with mint thick 5mm bevelled sides/front/back door and massive top viewing glass.Weight: A heavy clock, weighing 2.100 Kg circa before packing. The case is with patina and signs of used, a bit hard to photograph they do not do the clock justice at all. The Dial The dial is a beautiful and rare Mary Gregory Porcelain hand painted, was professional restored and now is perfect as it's original mint condition, with Roman numerals. Mary Gregory and Victorian childrenShe was particularly well known for her paintings of Victorian Era children, and such artwork has been referred to as Mary Gregory since the 1920s. The glass most likely came from Bohemia, England, or Italy. Despite this, many glass art enthusiasts continue to refer to such pieces as Mary Gregory. The Movement The movement is an eight day time and strike which strikes the hours and halves on a gong to the rear also has the repeater button on top to repeat the last hour strike, the movement/platform has been serviced and oiled so keeping good time over the eight days and signed with his logo Arrow makers mark .Overall a very beautiful heavy quality carriage clock by a quality French maker that looks stunning on display and contains all of its original features this is quite a rare find these days.
