FULL SERVICE MAY 2018. .  I AM RETIRED AND HAVE HAD PROFESSIONAL HOROLOGICAL TRAINING. I RESTORE ANTIQUE/VINTAGE CLOCKS AS A HOBBY IN MY SPARE TIME AND SPECIALISE IN CARRIAGE CLOCKS  CLASSIC ANTIQUE FRENCH  CARRIAGE CLOCK  IN GOOD CONDITION. IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN FRANCE C 1905 . I  COMPLETELY OVERHAULED AND SERVICED IT IN MAY THIS YEAR.  Height (with handle folded down) 4 3/4 inches (12 cms); Width 3 inches (7.5 cms); Depth 2 1/2 inches (6 cms). 
  • MOVEMENT :  8-day timepiece with a new Swiss lever escapement which works well with good amplitude. It is a good quality movement. The movement was pretty dirty when I acquired the clock, so I dismantled it completely and checked all parts carefully for wear (none found). I then hand-polished the pivots, pegged out the sinks and finally, after polishing the parts and rebuilding it, I oiled it back and front with appropriate grade clock oil. The movement now looks almost like it would have done when the clock was first sold!
  • CASE : Solid brass case  in excellent overall condition.  All the parts bear the same matching number (079), which shows it is original. It has been very nicely gilded. So, instead of stripping the case back to the brass as I usually do, I simply washed the case parts in warm soapy water and then gave them a coat of micro-crystalline wax polish to preserve the patina. The rear glazed door opens and closes with satisfying precision and is a beautiful fit - a good sign for obvious reasons!
  • DIAL : The white enamel-on-copper dial has a matt gold mask surround to it (which sits well with the gilded finish of the case). The bold roman numerals and chapter ring are crystal clear. The overall effect is pleasing and the clock looks striking on display.  The polished blued-steel hands are original and are in perfect condition.
  • GLASSES : It's not often one can say this but, all five thick bevelled glasses are original and in perfect condition .    
  • KEY : The clock comes with a fitted key for winding the 8-day movement and has a fitted knurled knob for adjusting the hands.
  • INSTRUCTIONS: I will enclose with the clock some simple instructions about how to get it going if it has stopped whilst in the post. I will also provide my contact details so you can get in touch with me about care/maintenance etc. 
THIS CLASSIC ANTIQUE CLOCK IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND LOOKS STRIKING ON DISPLAY. The clock is rather heavy hence the relatively high packaging and postage charge.   • Condition: This clock is in very good condition. It was made in France in about 1905. I completely dismantled the movement to check it for wear then cleaned polished and oiled it. (It now works perfectly). I also cleaned and polished the gilded case finishing it off with a special wax polish to protect the finish. The case, movement and glasses are faultless. The clock has a replacement Swiss lever escapement and an integral key.
