Seller: shearclass-2007 (733) 100%, Location: King's Lynn, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 113772016248 For sale and your consideration is a beautiful Antique Break Arch Bracket Clock The maker is "Manoah Rhodes & Sons Ltd" based at that time in Bradford, England. Manoah Rhodes and Sons - silver maker, watchmaker and jeweller Founded by Manoah Rhodes in Bradford in 1836. Maker of gold and silver watches, jewellery and silver plate. The business grew into one of the largest jewellers in the North of England. Manoah Rhodes died in March 1881 and in 1888 the firm converted into a limited liability company known as Manoah Rhodes & Sons Ltd.Other names associated: Ackroyd Rhodes & Manoah Rhodes & Sons, Jehoiada Alsop Rhodes & Barber This particular clock is from my own personal collection which I am selling with others. The clock has just been fully stripped down, cleaned and is working perfectly. MovementI think the movement is French and is numbered GB&B 2299 and the pendulum is also numbered 2299 which confirms the movement and pendulum belong together. The clock has a very quiet tick. It chimes on the half hour and on the hour onto a gong for the relevant time i.e 7 strikes at 7 o'clock etc.The rear door to access the movement is by external latch fitting which works fine. Due to the clock's age, the original rear door mesh, interior red material and internal wooden fixing beading has seen better days but is all in place. This could be replaced if so required, by a clock repairer or handyman. The movement runs for 8 days approximately. The pendulum is by adjustable screw and will need a small screwdriver for this.. CaseThe casing is beautiful which looks like mahogany, being heavy and good quality with a lovely patina and sits on 4 Brass feet GlassThe bevelled glass is in excellent conditionThe door to access the dial winding holes has an external push button to open the door which is fully working and fine. DialThe dial is silvered and in very good condition with black Roman Numerals. It has an Inscribed floral frieze which looks lovely. Size (All measurements are approximate)Height: 11.5"Width: 8.75"Depth: 6.5" ConditionThe general condition is good but being an Antique item, it does show signs of wear with scratches, nicks, bumps, chips and other imperfections etc. Please do bear this in mind before purchasing. GeneralThis is a beautiful fine clock and looks even better in the FleshThe photo's do not show how wonderful this clock isThe clock would fetch a tidy sum in an Antique Shop or Dealers. Important - Please Read:ALL antique clocks after transport no matter how well they have been looked after or serviced may require setting up, adjustments and setting into beat when you receive them and i always recommend a professional or an experienced clock person to do this correctly for you. Unfortunately with some clocks it is not a matter of unpacking them, putting the pendulum on and away they go, some clocks will need the extra adjustments and setting into beat so please remember this before purchase. Most clocks will be ok and will not need any additional adjustments but please bear in mind this may not be the case. Any clocks returned because of setting up issues or adjustments needed after transit then a fee will be applicable. For your piece of mind I test all of my clocks before they are sent out or described in the add, the clock will not have any problems as they are tested vigorously before sending. Thank you.. If I can be of assistance or you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.Thanks for looking..
