Item:303377292209MORE PICTURES AFTER ITEM DESCRIPTION This well figured walnut veneered striking Vienna regulator wall clock was manufactured by H.Endler & Co of Freiburg in Germany sometime in the 1880s. It has a serial number 108775 stamped in to the back plate of the movement along with the H.Endler trade mark ,the same trade mark is also stamped into the back of the clock case I have included a picture of this as part of the clock description. H.Endler & Co produced high quality regulator cases and movements, the trade mark was registered on 10th August 1877. The clock has a running duration of 8 days and is in excellent original working condition. The well-proportioned and slim case is in remarkable condition and veneered in a particularly well figured walnut which has an excellent original gloss finish along with a nice patina consistent with a well preserved antique. The case has no damage and is in totally original condition. In place of the more usual half round pillars the door has canted corners with flat ebonised pillars with shaped mouldings at the top and bottom of the door. The applied mouldings and the finials are all ebonised contrasting well with the walnut veneer. The door and the sides of the case still has the original glass and the brass levelling screws and brackets are present. As with most of the earlier cases the top section is integral and not detachable and has a well defined moulding with two similar finials and a large central finial. As with all weight driven Vienna regulators the movement is of the highest quality having maintaining power and dead beat escapement for accurate timekeeping. The movement has just ben professionally restored and is original to the case. It is keeping excellent time and striking reliably. Striking is every hour (once for each hour indicated) and then once for every half hour on a coiled steel gong fixed to the movement mounting bracket. I have included some pictures of the movement at the end of the item description. The white porcelain dial has Roman numerals and a subsidiary seconds dial, it is in excellent condition with only the faintest of hairlines between the 10 and 11. The 2 pulleys and the brass cased weights and pendulum are also in good condition. The pierced steel hands are of typical Viennese style. As can be seen from the photographs, although over 100 years old this clock is in superb original condition requiring no restoration at all. Height - 46 inches Max width - 14. 3/4. inches (at top) Max depth - 6. 1/2 inches Dial diameter - 7 inches. If the clock is to be sent by post it will be securely packaged in a custom made heavy duty double wall corrugated cardboard box with adequate bubble wrap and other materials to protect the clock, these boxes cost me £18. Only world leading couriers will be used with full on line tracking. Where possible the ebay global shipping programme will be used and again full on line tracking will be available. Of course collection of the clock is also an option and the new owner of the clock will be able to see the clock running and time will be taken to demonstrate the setting up procedure after the clock has been moved. All clocks are tested for a minimum of 1 month.
