Beautiful and rare, 19th Century Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) large Arita or Imari vase. The vase is of baluster form with collar neck and flared rim. Traditionally hand painted in typical Imari palette. Decorated with panels of chrysanthemums, birds   and willow tree to front and back with floral decoration between. This vase is typical of the Imari porcelain ware that was made for export during the Meiji period. The vase is unmarked. The vase is approx. 29,5 cm /11.61 Inch in height, approx. 16 cm / 6.29 Inch in diameter and weights 1,7 kg / 3.74 lb.

Pre-owned, in an excellent antique condition, no damage or restoration. Glaze flaws and firing cracks as is commonly seen in Imari ware of this period. Crack seen on last photo is not affecting use of vase and was probably like this from the beginning. Sold as found and as seen in photos.
