Item:401845368711A stunning little antique Irish folk art stool. The octagonal top is well carved with a central Celtic harp surrounded by concentric bands and borders of shamrocks. It sits on four well-turned tapering legs. The legs appear to be a fruitwood but it is hard to tell with the lovely dark patina. It stands at only 27cm /11" tall, much like a milking stool. It looks like it once had a maker's label underneath, sadly absent. I can see traces of a modern glue around the leg joints, almost certainly injected to strengthen them. Very good condition, lovely patina. I have been unable to find another stool quite like it. UK Postage by Parcelforce 48, £13.14. Overseas postage is quite pricey due to size/weight. Estimate £22.85 Airmail Tracked & Signed For.Condition:Excellent condition, great patina. Possible regluing of the joints in the recent past., Product Type:Stools, Style:Rustic, Material:Fruitwood, Original/Reproduction:Original
