This is a Antique 19th Century Carved Alabaster French Japy Freres Mantel Clock. This clock is a stunning piece. Unfortunately it is not currently in working order. The pendulum only swings for a few seconds. This is an absolutely eye catching clock. It has been hand carved from alabaster, in an architectural style. It has brass finials to the front and sides, and features an almost pendant looking decal to the centre front. It has scrolled shapes and scalloped edges, standing on four carved feet. The top has a dish on a brass pedestal for deign purposes. The face brass roman numerals on alabaster. The numeral V is missing, but has left a numeral V shaped mark where it was. There are two winding holes and it has brass hands. The glass casing from the front is missing, but the brass bezel is intact. The mechanism is accessed at the back of the clock through a cut-out. There is a chime bell. Behind this is the Japy Freres stamping, which is dated back to 1855. This clock comes with a key and pendulum.
